BT Web Hosting Review : business.bt.com
Overview:
BT are renowned for their communication service but not so well known for their hosting as it's a rather new service which they are moving into. A little advanced for newbie's and not the standard hosting we are used to, but being a big brand in the UK they will never be short of signups.
Features:
BT web hosting isn't filled with all the cPanel and fantastico hosting features you may be used to with devoted web hosting companies like the 1 click blog, gallery and forum install as they use their own control panel. They do offer 1 free domain name but unlike other top hosts this isn't for life though so will cost you yearly. BT web hosting allows you to add blogs and have live video on your website and also eMarketing capability to send up to 500 marketing emails per month.
* 5GB Disk Space
* 48GB Data Transfer
Summary:
BT haven't offered hosting for very long so time will tell if they can become a major force in the tricky web hosting industry. A shame there is no money back guarantee as I'm sure a few webmasters would like to try them. So far we have had mixed reviews but we are positive BT will start offering more features soon so maybe worth watching for the future as they will probably (like fine wines) mature with age and get better and better Read The Rest Of This Review

BT Web Hosting

I have had nothing but problems with BT and their web hosting services: misinformation, poor customer support, incorrect passwords/ advice and information about the package, a set up which is difficult to follow....the only good thing I can say is that their web chat support was ok! AVOID
Low cost but poor hosting

BT web hosting is now reasonably low cost, but its not hosting you are used too. They host your site thats it, no real hosting features like adding extra domains, or hosting multiple domains from one account. I wanted to add a SSL this was hard work. And my site has been loading very slow since i moved to them.
I would stick with a named web host.
Confused!

My company web site has been hosted with BT for many years and the company is expanding I want to transfer a .eu domain name that belongs to the company but it had been registered with a.another about a year ago I only registered my .eu names through a.another as BT did not or were not recognised at the time by Eurid. Today I have been informed that BT will not accept a transfer in of .eu domains!? Only if they have been registered through BT.
Time to move on, if the bumbling giant cannot adapt and is happy to follow so be it, amazed that it makes the top 10 of hosting companies on this website.
BT should stick to telephones

Every single web hosting service on this site bar BT provide instant domain registration and access.
With BT I registered and 24 hours later it is still showing as 'processing'. I'm told that they will then send an invoice for the 1st quarter out to me, the register domain name - the whole process could take weeks.
So I told them "no thanks". Cancel the order.
I also despise webforms as a method of communication for the following reasons:
1) They are VERY restricted and specific wrt what you must enter into each field, extremely frustrating. My blood was boiling trying to send them a message.
2) You have no record of your communication. Very handing for denying a communication ever took place.
They should stick to telephones, they're not very good at that either but perhaps they should try and do that better before making a complete hash of web hosting and inconveniencing small businesses!
