I haven't tried 123-Reg's hosting services but there domain registration services used to be great (until they became the worlds most expensive host). For .co.uk domains these guys are still cheap, but for anyone who registers .com's and other top level TLD's these guys are no good, you can get twice as much elsewhere.

They may be a big company with good infrastructure etc.... but if they are so big - why can't they offer 24/7 support like most other hosts?
Too much money for what you are getting - then again some people don't mind being ripped off.
